District 47 Presidents, Players, and Families,
District 47 has become a powerhouse in the north
state, and not only on the ball field. Together, we
have shown the other districts and their leagues how
to "Respect the Game", along with all that entails.
We are grateful to all of you for that accomplishment.
Carol and I have decided that it is time to call an
end to our Little League career. It has been
a pleasure to have served this wonderful community.
When we moved here 11 years ago, we never dreamed that
we would find such warm and welcoming people, and
that we would feel so at home.
We have always found that Little League, and the many
lessons and opportunities the game brings, has been a
wonderful stepping stone for children. We have
watched those children that we coached our first
season here become young adults. We remember the
miracle of a first catch, a first hit, or the
momentous first slide. And we have all seen that
child that lacks confidence make the final play in a
critical game. We will miss this.
Carol and I will look forward to dropping by ball
games as our schedules allow, while finally
building the mountain cabin that we have been talking
about for years. We will also take a vacation here and
there, and not always in August after the dust of the
infield finally settles.
Holding this position has been a true pleasure, and we
know that you will be in great hands with our
successor, who will be voted in at the Sept,
2008 meeting. The only requirements are that they live
in the district, that they have been a President of a
Little League, and that they be nominated by a current
League President. Please begin thinking of who you
would like to nominate to lead this wonderful
organization.
With warm wishes for the success of your leagues,
Todd and Carol |
