CA 47
District 47 is located in the beautiful Sacramento Valley. It
encompasses all of Butte and Glenn counties, including the
Leagues located in the cities of Biggs, Chico, Durham,
Gridley, Hamilton City, Orland, Oroville, Palermo, Paradise and Willows.
TODD STEWART, beloved District Administrator,
passed away unexpectedly on January 12, 2009
at the age of 50. Like many of us Todd
Stewart became involved in Little League by
helping out as a coach for his children’s
teams. Todd coached for five years and held
numerous positions at El Rancho Chico Little
League including, Player Agent (1 year) and
President (3 years). He assisted in every
aspect of the League from field clean-up to
pancake breakfast coordinator. Ultimately
Todd became District Administrator of CA
District 47 Little League, which serves
thousands of children throughout the
communities of Butte and Glenn County. He
served in that capacity from October
2004-September 2008.
Anyone who met
Todd immediately knew that he was an
advocate for children, Little League, and
the game of baseball. In honor of
Todd's passion for Little League, the
"Respect the Game" (Todd Hunter Stewart
Award) is giving out during tournament play,
to the player who best represents what the
true spirit of Little League is all about.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that
donations are made to District 47 Little
League, c/o Bruce Barnett, Butte Community
Bank, 2041 Forest Ave., Chico, CA 95928. You
